I think you just need to build up your confidence.

Might not be as high as needed because you’re asking the question. You should be getting those application forms filled out and in the interviews telling them why you’re the person for the role. You can do it and you need the opportunity to show them.

    Just go for it.

As long as the job doesn’t include spelling and grammar you should be OK.

Yes you could go for Head Receptionist, but dont forget there are other jobs out there you could try Administrator type jobs and Business Support all more or less the same. I used to be a Receptionist at a council run leisure centre loved the work although some customers could be loud. The local councils and any of the government depts have a better pay rate than private companies at the moment.

I should think they’ll be looking for someone with experience. Make sure you have everything on your CV. Ask them if you can be entered for the Receptionist’s Diploma, I know it exists, or at least existed because I started it when I was receptionist at our main YMCA. It’ll show that you’re serious about advancement.

You’re young enough to go all the way to PA to a CEO but you must have confidence in your abilities.

Head receptionist implies managing a few people under you. Unless you can prove that you have supervisory skills and have managed people in a team, you may not be considered.
